Awards

The International Conference on Gas Hydrates (ICGH 2026) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the following awards.
- Lifetime Achievement Award - Donald W. Davidson Award - Outstanding PhD Thesis Award ICGH 2026

a) Lifetime Achievement Award
Objective: To recognize an outstanding career in the field of gas hydrates.
Process: ISC members are invited to nominate candidates (by May 21th). The decision will be made collectively by the ISC, chaired by the ICGH Conference Chair.
Number of Awards: Up to 3 awards may be granted.
Award Presentation: Plaque designed by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and a 3-minute acceptance speech during the banquet.
Nomination Requirements: Nomination letter from an ISC member + updated CV of the nominee.

b) Donald W. Davidson Award
Objective: To recognize researchers in their forties or younger.
Process: ISC members nominate candidates (by May 21th). The decision is made collectively by the ISC, chaired by the ICGH Conference Chair.
Number of Awards: Up to 3 awards may be granted.
Award Presentation: Plaque designed by the LOC and a 3-minute acceptance speech during the banquet.
Nomination Requirements: Nomination letter from an ISC member + updated CV of the nominee.
Note: The awardee must be present at the conference to receive the award.

c) Outstanding PhD Thesis Award ICGH 2026
PhD thesis in English, defended between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2025.
The awardee must be present at the conference to receive the award.
Application Requirements : 
    - Nomination letter from the PhD thesis supervisor.
    - Updated CV of the candidate.
    - Up to 5 scientific publications directly related to the thesis work.
    - Copy of the PhD thesis (in English).
Selection Process
Applications should be sent to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), which will propose a final selection to the ISC for approval.
Award Presentation
Certificate signed by the ICGH Conference Chair.
